Eighty London Fire Brigade firefighters and 12 apparatus tackled an apartment fire on Barking Road in Canning Town Friday morning.
Three apartments in the residential block were damaged by the residential fire, which started on the seventh floor at about 9 a.m. The fire was under control after about one hour.
There were no reports of any injuries. Dispatchers worked to provide advice to residents inside the building while the firefighting efforts were under way.
Station Commander Alex Strand, who was at the scene, said: “On arrival, flames were visible coming out from the flat.
“Initial crews gained access quickly and worked incredibly hard to bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading further.
“Fire investigators are now on scene and will begin their investigation into the cause.”
