4 Alarm fire on concord Ave in Cambridge. Several rescues made by CFD
FireSpark857
Around 11:48PM on January 12th 2021, Cambridge Fire Alarm received a call for a fire alarm activation at 14 Concord Ave. Before Fire Alarm was able to dispatch companies they received several calls reporting smoke in the building, and subsequently struck box 64. Cambridge Police quickly arrived to find heavy fire and smoke pushing from the 3rd floor. Upon arrival division 2 quickly struck 3 Alarms.
The fire extended to the 4th floor and eventually went to 4 alarms.
Crews had difficulty getting water on the fire due to extreme heat and at one point utilized a master stream from Ladder 4. CFD members also rescued several residents trapped by the thick black smoke.
My arrival was within 10 minutes of the first due arrival and heavy fire continued to push from the building.
