Labor-intensive fire at a residential high-rise

FAIRFIELD, Connecticut – Firefighters extinguished what The Milford Mirror called a “labor-intensive” blaze on the roof of a residential high-rise.
Firefighters responded at approximately 9:45 p.m. to a report of a fire on the rooftop deck at the Alto Fairfield Metro Complex on Kings Highway.
Assistant Fire Chief Erik Kalapir told the Mirror that the fire was deep inside a decorative fireplace,
Firefighters used saws and other hand tools to get to the flames.
A total of 33 firefighters responded, from Fairfield and Bridgeport.
