Elderly woman succumbs to injuries in Plattsburgh fire

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (NBC5) – Emergency officials said one woman has died after being seriously injured Friday morning in a fire in Plattsburgh.

Clinton County dispatchers said firefighters from multiple departments responded to the fire at the Beekman Towers Apartments on Truman Avenue just after 7 a.m.

Firefighters said they were able to get to the scene within three minutes of the first call.They said the fire was contained mainly to one apartment, but was close to spreading.

Isabelle LaBarge, 71, was found unconscious in her first-floor apartment.
