Fatal Fire in Syracuse, NY High-Rise

Careless smoking is listed as the cause of the fatal fire

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – A woman is in critical condition following a fire at a high-rise apartment in Syracuse.

According to police, the 53-year-old woman was transported to Upstate University and is being treated for burns and smoke inhalation. Her identity has not been released.

Syracuse firefighters and Syracuse police were called to the Almus Olver Tower apartments just after 3:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
