PORTSMOUTH, Virginia – Portsmouth firefighters responded to an apartment fire in the 200 block of Green Street in Portsmouth on Wednesday.

Firefighters arrived and saw fire showing from the seventh floor of the eight-story building.

13News reports that firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.

One occupant was treated on the scene for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
