ROCK ISLAND, Illinois – WQAD reported that a Rock Island resident was displaced from their apartment after a fire Wednesday afternoon.

In a Facebook post from the Rock Island Fire Department, the department said they responded to a fire on the 10th floor of Two Rivers Point.

Firefighters evacuated several occupants and then contained the blaze to the apartment of origin.

The cause of the fire was determined to be an accident with the stove.
