Akron Firefighters Battle High-Rise Fire

Several occupants injured injured

AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Beacon Journal reported that several occupants of the Fairway Tower and Manor Apartments were treated for smoke inhalation after a fire on Sunday.

Firefighters responded to the fire on Mull Avenue at 11:11 a.m.

Akron Fire Lt. Sierjie Lash said the fire involved an apartment on the third floor.

Three occupants were transported to the hospital

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
