WAUKEGAN, Illinois – Lake & McHenry County Scanner reported that Waukegan firefighters responded to the Lilac Ledge Apartments at 542 Washington Street, for a structure fire.
Firefighters found a fire on the 10th floor of the 12-story high-rise and contained the fire to the apartment.
Resident Hernandez-Martinez was found dead at the scene.
The Waukegan Police Department, the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal, and the Lake County Coroner’s Office are investigating.
