ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – Three people were injured during a fire in an Atlantic City high-rise on Saturday according to The Press of Atlantic City.

The three suffered minor injuries after a fire began in a fourth-floor apartment at the High Gate on Absecon Boulevard at approximately 12: 20 p.m.

Atlantic City Fire Chief Scott Evans told The Press that the call was for an apartment fire with a woman hanging from the fourth-floor balcony railing.

Firefighters found the woman holding onto the railing and raised a ladder to quickly rescue her.

Fire Chief Evans said the fire began in the kitchen of her apartment and believes either heat or panic drove her onto the balcony railing.
