Rescues at Los Angeles Abandoned High-Rise Fire

LOS ANGELES, California – KABC/ABC7 has video of Los Angeles firefighters rescuing people from the roof during a fire involving an abandoned eight-story building on March 23, 2021.

Firefighters responded to the commercial structure at 1603 South San Pedro Street at approximately 7:20 p.m.

Firefighters reached the people on the roof via aerial ladders and had them shelter in place until after the fire was extinguished and the stairways were clear.

The people on the roof, eight total, told firefighters they were taking part in a photo shoot.

There were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
