Recent fire and violation highlight constant calls

SEATTLE – KING5 reports that a recent trash chute fire highlights the many times Seattle firefighters have responded to a low-income high-rise.
Department records show that 218 responses were made to the Addison in 2019 alone.
The fire on Tuesday was the third call to the apartment building in 24 hours.
There were 13 calls for service in the first eight days of 2020.
Tuesday’s fire also revealed three violations including a clogged trash chute, packed full to the fifth floor according to KING5.
The Seattle Housing Authority said that it does conduct annual or biannual building inspections for locations that accept housing vouchers.
