GREENVILLE, North Carolina – WITN reports that firefighters from Greenville Fire spent time on the campus of East Carolina University on Friday conducting ladder truck drills.

The training focused on apparatus positioning, and quickly deploying aerial ladders towards windows on high-rise buildings.

Firefighters trained at the West End dorms on campus and had to successfully position ladders at targeted windows and then climb up to the windows.

Lieutenant Stephen West told WITN that the city is seeing continued growth, and many new buildings are growing upwards.

The city has five aerial ladder trucks to use in high-rise emergencies.
