Woman and Service Dog Killed in Chicago High-Rise Fire

CHICAGO – The Chicago Tribune reported that a woman and her service dog were found dead inside their apartment during a fire on November 24.

Firefighters responded to the apartment building in the 5200 block of North Kenmore Avenue in Edgewater Beach at approximately 9:20 a.m. for a report of a fire on the seventh floor.

The two were found in a living room after a fire that authorities say originated on her stove in a North Side high-rise apartment.
